All About The New PSP Go Features
The latest release of Sony's gaming portables isthe PSP Go, revealed in Q4 of 2009 at the E3gaming expo. The PSP Go features are noticeably different to older machines in the line, and unite to supply aclassy and practical differentiation to the existing line.
The initial, and likely most talked about, of the PSP Go features to vary from older models is the absence of the UMD drive. Previous models have made use of this media outlet for both games and videos, but the PSP Go drops it completely. As an alternative, Sony want all software on the PSP Go to be downloaded onto the sixteen GB of internal memory. This brave move will be aided by the PS store, which is building amassive catalogue of games and films to be made available with the PSP Go features.
The previously mentioned 16 GB of memory is flash based, and is free to be increased to 32 GB by the memory stick micro. This PSP Go feature delivers a vast stock of memory so gamers will not be stumped for room. The screen is a touch reducedin size since the PSP 3000, but presents a much more focussed picture at 480×272 pixels. The screen layer is slipped upwards to reveal the buttons and directional pad, which also includes an analogue stick as before.
The PSP Go keeps all of the basic features of its original, including wi-fi functioning and connectivity to the PS store both individually or through a PS3. Sony are aiming to make all previous UMDs available through the store, and game players can also find 'Minis', a new set of less expensive games from fan-favourite ranges like Tetris and Megaman.
So that's a quick introto the PSP Go features. The machine keeps the established feel and specs of the progenitor, whilst showcasing a fresh new design and inventive media capabilities. Sony have said that totally downloading games is the plan for all videogames in the long run, and so the PSP Go is leading the way for a new step in gaming history.
